Edinburgh’s EMILIE steps away from classic pop numbers in Eyes For You, a track with a heart of darkness.
Pure vocals warm the air, her voice alike London Grammar’s Hannah Reid – ethereal and unique. Tackling the feeling of suppression, “set me free / when you wanna find me / it doesn’t matter what you say now / it’s only gonna be a let down” – Emily defends herself in Eyes For You.
She takes on somber electro-pop accompaniment, gradually creating an overcast of harmonies. Finger clicks and blurred percussion build on one another, but nothing surpasses that voice.
An Intriguing track, EMILIE isn’t afraid to show emotions through a dark shadow. Listen to Eyes For You below.
