PHOTOS + REVIEW: THE SHIMMER BAND @ KING TUTS WAH WAH HUT, GLASGOW

The Shimmer Band return to Glasgow with a striking headline show at King Tuts.

After supporting Cabbage in February, the five piece have grown through the city’s music scene – their name now whispered round every street corner. A stomping live set boosts this arrogance, pushing boundaries and allowing the band to shimmer as much as they please.

It’s full of those tunes that get every limb moving, bopping in time with the beat. The crowd, warmed up by Vida and The Hazy Shades were lifted from the ground with hands in the air.

Closing with Shoot Me (Baby) and a fierce instrumental, The Shimmer Band opened doors to a long weekend of celebrations.
