(LIVE REVIEW) ELLA EYRE @ O2ABC, GLASGOW

Monday, usually the worst day of the week as you awake with a full five days of work ahead; it was a bad day for everyone except the energetic crowd who danced along to the more so energetic Ella Eyre at the O2 ABC, Glasgow on the 6th of October. Her presence instantly lit up the stage with her distinctive curls and classic BRIT Awards cat suit.

From featuring on Bastille’s EP to landing her first number 1 with Rudimental in 2013, it was obvious that Ella Eyre was an arising musician waiting to rule the charts – which she has done with both of her recent singles If I Go and Comeback sneaking into the Top 20. And now, she is in the spotlight with her solo tour and it’s just the album that awaits.

Her blues and 80’s vibes were perfectly captured through the opening track Worry Bout Mewhere Ella’s signature curls bounced away to the beat as she leaped to either side of the stage. Captivated, the audience clung onto Ella’s insane vocals during her newest track Bullet For You – which is featured on the Comeback EP and could definitely be the next James Bond soundtrack!

Eyre mixed it up with a beautiful ballad Alone Too which she wrapped up with an incredible cover of Jermaine Stewart’s We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off. Although the atmosphere was amazing, it was Ella’s recent single If I Go that really got the room moving from head to toe; and with this crazy sight, it really was sensible to play a collaboration of her own track Fall Down into her first number 1 Waiting All Night. Unreal vocals from Eyre and wicked dance moves from the crowd made the singers encore of Home and Comeback even more powerful and surreal.

With shows like this, it wouldn’t be surprising if Ella was performing for fans worldwide next year.
