Declan McKenna released catchy new single The Kids Don’t Wanna Come Home on the 11 th of January 2017.
At age 18, Declan McKenna has already played Glastonbury after winning their Emerging Talent Competition; been announced for Coachella 2017; worked with producer James Ford (who has worked for Arctic Monkeys, Florence and the Machine and Foals) and signed to Colombia Records alongside the likes of Calvin Harris, Kasabian and Bob Dylan to name a few.
The track has a Blossom feel throughout with the minimal synth and strong vocals. The synth style is becoming a trademark to Declan McKenna music with similar sounds heard on other tracks like Paracetamol and Isombard. The chorus is catchy and fun, with a hint of a pop vibe. To top the track off, a guitar solo comes in blending incredibly with the synth towards the end of the track before bursting back into a chorus.
Declan McKenna is sure to have an impressive future with this track joining his synth heavy, original and catchy tunes catalogue.
