Back for more, The New Coast front a collection of luscious pop tunes with Paraga Beach.
Like the title, we are transported to white sands and blue waters on a peaceful beach with this EP. A blissful memory turned into love balladry, each coated in sugar sweet melodies.
A simple rhythm meets ethereal harmonies where they round off a synth-based wonder. They soundtrack heartache, not heartbreak. Feelings of lust, loss and love sink beneath each note, shining through cracks of electronica.
Opening with Lost In Your Love – the most upbeat feature – Paraga Beach quite literally slows down. Surfacing more layers to the enticing soundscape that The New Coast go by with Slow Down, Melbourne and Body Language.
‘Paraga Beach is acting as a collection of small and big moments from our lives so far. We want people to see the EP as a body of work and not just a collection of songs put together. Sonically, it tells a story much like a film, an idealistic version of real life, coupled with lyrics that ask rhetorical questions that we aren’t even sure of the answer to. The words are searching and are trying to make sense of life around us. We took the time to write the songs in Mykonos, Greece, as this felt like a lighter setting for contrasting moodier lyrics. We are going to create a few more bodies of work to create a full cinematic experience and these will follow in the same manner. We are insanely excited to get this out and we hope people can see this as a soundtrack and visualisation to something much bigger than we can even explain’
An EP to latch on to, The New Coast never fail.
