Latching onto any hope of Spring, this wonder perfectly welcomes in the new season. When I’m Away oozes into the universal indie-pop genre whilst crowning it’s own signature sounds and treasuring the favored echo of The Colourist. It’s often difficult to find a band that acquires such effortlessly energetic beats but with this on repeat, we’ve definitely found one.
Small beats grow bigger and bigger with the addition of enticing harmonies and a bad ass bass line – before bursting through drum beats into an enchanting chorus. The Colourist have definitely stepped up their game through this hypnotizing and intriguing track.
Since releasing their self-titled album last year, the Californian quartet have fired up an excited fan base. Patiently awaiting fresh music, When I’m Away greets the month with open arms and gleeful grins.
